Here's an Excuse that Really Works

The next time you're in need of a reason to get out of yardwork, consider this one:

On Thursday, May 6th, immediately after finishing up the yard, Mel had instant pain in his right leg and spiked a fever. We thought nothing of it and went about life as usual. By the next night, he was rapidly declining. On Saturday morning, I rushed him to the hospital with a 107.6 fever. Yes, you read that right: 107.6! I had no idea a thermometer could even register that high!

He was immediately admitted and pumped full of antibiotics. Unbeknownst to us, Mel had developed sepsis, meaning his blood stream was thoroughly poisoned. After spending nine long days in the hospital over two separate admissions and surviving a barrage of tests, we still have no idea what caused the mysterious and potentially life-threatening infection in Mel's leg. The best hypothesis is that he came in contact with something that managed to enter his blood through a slight break in the skin.

What we do know is this: God is faithful and our Healer. His people are good and covered us in prayer. We are so thankful to Him and to you.

So, does anyone want to buy our lawnmower?
